Editorial Policy and Corrections

Last reviewed: 14 August 2026. SA Grant Dates is an independent information website. We are not SASSA, the Department of Social Development or another South African government body. This policy explains how we select, research, review, update and correct our grant information.

Our Editorial Purpose

Our purpose is to explain SASSA payment dates, social grants, SRD R370 processes, status messages and appeals in clear language for people in South Africa. We aim to help readers find the correct official service while protecting their privacy. We do not process applications, check personal statuses, change banking details or request identity numbers, PINs, passwords or one-time passwords.

How We Choose Topics

  • Questions that applicants and beneficiaries commonly need answered.
  • Official changes to payment dates, grant amounts, requirements or online services.
  • Problems that can prevent people from completing an application or understanding a status.
  • Safety information that can help readers avoid scams and unofficial services.

Before publishing a new guide, we compare it with our existing pages to reduce duplication. Each page should answer a distinct search intent. When an existing page already covers the subject, we update or expand that page instead of creating a competing article.

Sources and Fact-Checking

We prefer primary South African sources. These include the official SASSA website, the official SRD portal, the Department of Social Development, GOV.ZA, official legislation, official notices and verified government news services. We may use a reliable secondary source for context, but a secondary source does not replace an available official announcement.

  • Time-sensitive dates, amounts and rules are checked against the most recent official publication available.
  • Guides link readers to the relevant official service wherever practical.
  • We separate general guidance from decisions that only SASSA or another authorised body can make.
  • We avoid presenting estimates, rumours or competitor wording as confirmed facts.

Readers can find the main government links we use on our official resources page.

Writing, Review and Updates

Content is written for clarity and practical usefulness. Before publication, the SA Grant Dates Editorial Team checks the page structure, factual claims, official links, privacy warnings, internal links and whether the article duplicates another page. Important pages display a publication or review date where appropriate.

Payment schedules, grant amounts, deadlines and official portal processes can change. We review time-sensitive pages when a new official notice appears and correct material changes as soon as reasonably possible. Older explanatory pages are also reviewed when a source changes or a reader reports a problem.

AI Assistance and Original Work

We may use AI-assisted tools to help organise a draft, improve readability, identify gaps or create original illustrative media. AI output is not treated as an official source. Factual claims must still be checked against appropriate sources before publication. Images created for this website must be original or properly licensed and must not imitate the official SASSA logo, a government emblem or another organisation’s protected identity.

We do not knowingly copy competitor articles, photographs or graphics. For more information about ownership, independence and takedown requests, read our disclaimer.

Corrections Policy

If we find a factual, link, spelling or presentation error, we correct it according to its impact. A broken link or minor typo may be fixed directly. A material error involving a payment date, amount, eligibility rule, deadline or official process is rechecked against the best available primary source before the page is updated.

  1. Identify the exact claim or URL that may be wrong.
  2. Check the relevant official or primary source.
  3. Correct the page and update the review date when the change is material.
  4. Review nearby pages and internal links so the same error is not repeated elsewhere.

To report an error, use our contact page and include the page URL, the text you believe is incorrect and, if possible, the official source that supports the correction. Do not send an ID number, application ID, bank details, card details, password, PIN or OTP.

Independence, Privacy and Advertising

Editorial decisions are not controlled by SASSA or another government department. If advertising or affiliate relationships are introduced in the future, they will not be allowed to change factual conclusions or imitate an official service. Sponsored content, if ever published, will be clearly labelled. Our handling of submitted information is described in the privacy policy.
